Pretty in Pink by Steven Ciezki.
Spatial shape relationships in the world around me influence my glass work. Because these towers are made in individual parts and assembled later, each section is created as a reaction to the tower as a whole. Just like how books, movies, music or dance encompass a beginning, middle and end, all while referencing prior events along the way; these towers tell a short story from the bottom-up through form and proportion. With the addition of neon, I am experimenting with forms that are aesthetically pleasing when they are either on or off. This series expresses the incredible ability of how glass holds illumination and how that light follows the interior shape the material.
Blown glass, neon.
